An Astrology Solo Show at K. Imperial Fine Art
K. Imperial Fine Art is pleased to announce An Astrology, a new exhibition by artist Tahiti Pehrson. With this technically demanding collection, Pehrson unveils an alluring new direction in his artistic practice. His introduction of graphite and mono-printing into the work generates an active and engaging surface that is further galvanized by the contrast of unpredictable elements aligned with areas of controlled calculation. The show is available to view by appointment from February 1st to March 16th. The gallery and the artist welcome the public to the opening reception on Saturday, February 10th, from 3-5 p.m.

An interview with artist Tahiti Pehrson
Tahiti Pehrson, a visual artist based in Nevada City, creates two and three-dimensional hand-cut tapestries on pristine white cotton rag paper. These intricately cut works are visual explorations into complex systemic patterns, from architectural forms to recurring motifs in the natural world. Tahiti has been cutting paper for over 15 years. Tiny Atlas founder, Emily Nathan and curator Aimee Friberg met up with Tahiti at his home in Nevada City and trekked up with him into some nearby trails, bringing along several of Tahiti’s cut-out sculptures to explore how Tahiti’s work is connected to the landscape he works in.

Magnificent Paper Installation in Times Square Lobby
An artist with a penchant for paper, Tahiti Pehrson spent fifteen hours a day for three and a half months to create his fantastic installation of Kaleidoscopic systems for his site specific meditations in the lobbies of Viacom. I have visited many of their installations and this one is no less enchanting as the rest, though far more contemplative.
